1.StudentEngagementMygoalwastoincreasestudentengagementbyincorporatingmoreinteractiveteachingmethods.ToachievethisIhavebeentryingoutvariousteachingstrategiessuchasclassdiscussionsgroupworkandproject-basedlearning.IhavealsobeenexperimentingwithnewtechnologiessuchasKahootandQuizizztocreatemoreinteractiveandappealinglearningenvironments.
2.LearningOutcomesAnotherareawhereIwantedtoimprovewasinstudentlearningoutcomes.TodothisIhavebeenfocusingonusingavarietyofteachingresourcessuchasvideoaudioandgames.InadditionIhavebeentryingtoprovidemoreopportunitiesforstudentstopracticetheirlanguageskillsthroughrole-playsdebatesandreal-lifesituations.
3.FeedbackandAssessmentLastlyIwantedtoimprovemyfeedbackandassessmentprocesses.Ihavebeentryingtoprovidemoretimelyfeedbackonstudents’workaswellasmoredetailedfeedbackthatfocusesonbothstrengthsandareasthatneedimprovement.AdditionallyIhavebeenexperimentingwithdifferentformsofassessmentsuchasself-assessmentpeerassessmentandportfolioassessment.ImprovementPlanWhileIhavemadeprogressinthesethreeareasthereisstillroomforimprovement.Tocontinuemy“greatleaps”asanEnglishteacherIplantofocusonthefollowingareas:
1.DifferentiationOneofmygoalsnextyearistoimprovedifferentiationinmyteaching.Iwanttoensurethateverystudentischallengedattheirownlevelandthatdifferentlearningstylesareaccommodated.ToachievethisIplantoimplementarangeofteachingstrategiessuchastieredassignmentsflexiblegroupingandpersonalizedlearning.
2.AuthenticLearningAnotherareaIwanttoimproveisinprovidingmoreauthenticlearningexperiencesformystudents.ThismeanscreatingmoreopportunitiesforthemtouseEnglishinreal-lifesituationsandconnectingtheirlanguagelearningtothewidercommunity.Iplantodothisbyincorporatingmoreproject-basedlearningandservicelearningintomylessons.
3.CulturallyResponsiveTeachingLastlyIwanttoimprovemyculturalresponsivenessasateacher.Ourclassroomsarebecomingmorediverseanditisessentialthatwerecognizeandcelebratedifferentculturesandbackgrounds.TodothisIplantoincorporatemoreculturallyresponsiveteachingintomylessonssuchasusingculturally-relevanttextsandcreatingopportunitiesforopendiscussiononculturalissues.ConclusionAsanEnglishteacherIbelievethatconstantself-reflectionandimprovementareessentialforachieving“greatleaps”inteachingpractice.ByfocusingonareassuchasstudentengagementlearningoutcomesfeedbackandassessmentdifferentiationauthenticlearningandculturalresponsivenessIbelievethatIcanbemoreeffectiveinmyroleasanEnglishteacher.Iamexcitedtoimplementthesechangesinthecomingyearandwatchmystudentsachievegreatersuccessintheirlanguagelearningjourney.第PAGE页共NUMPAGES页。
