2023.ChallengesFacedbyVolunteerTeachersTeachinginruralschoolsisnoteasyastherearemultiplechallengesfacedbyvolunteerteachers.Forinstanceinadequatetrainingandlackofresourcessuchastextbooksmaketheteachingprocesschallenging.Giventheshortageofteachersvolunteersareexpectedtoteachmultiplesubjectswhichcanbeoverwhelming.Furthermorevolunteerteachershavetodealwithculturaldifferenceslanguagebarriersandsocialisolationwhichcanleadtoburnoutaffectingthequalityofeducationtheyprovide.ImportanceofaPersonalWorkPlanApersonalworkplanisadetaileddocumentthatoutlinesavolunteerteachersgoalsobjectivesstrategiesandexpectedoutcomes.Itisessentialforvolunteerteacherstohaveapersonalworkplantosucceedinruralschools.Herearethereasonswhy:
1.ProvidesClearGoalsandObjectivesApersonalworkplanhelpsthevolunteerteachersetclearandachievablegoalsandobjectives.Thiswaytheycanfocusonthecriticalaspectsoftheirworkplanandprioritizetheirgoalsmakingthemostofthelimitedtimeavailable.
2.IdentifiesStrategiestoAchieveGoalsApersonalworkplanhelpsvolunteerteachersidentifythebeststrategiestoachievetheirgoals.Thestrategiescanrangefromconductinganeedsassessmentengagingcommunitymemberstousingtechnologytosupplementtheshortageofresources.
3.EnhancesTimeManagementApersonalworkplanalsohelpsvolunteersmanagetheirtimeeffectively.Itenablesvolunteerteacherstocreateaschedulethatconsiderstheneedsoftheirstudentsschoolandcommunity.Timemanagementisessentialespeciallywhenfacedwiththepressureofhavingtoteachnumeroussubjects.
4.MonitorsProgressAftersettingobjectivesapersonalworkplanenablesvolunteerteacherstomonitorprogresstowardsachievingtheirgoals.Itsanopportunitytoadjustactivitiesthatdontalignwiththeirobjectivesandprioritizeurgentactivities.
