二、While-class教师活动介绍省略句的规则和用法为了使话说得简明扼要,英语句子中某个单词、短语甚至从句或主句都可以省去这种省去句子某些成分而保持句子意思不变的现象,称为省略()ellipsiso动词不定式的省略.有些动词(词组),如1want,wish,expect,hope,would like,try,forget等后接动词不定式作宾语时,为了避免重复,动词不定式符号后面的内to容常常被省略Youd betternot takemedicine unless your doctortold youto.除非医生叫你吃药,否则你最好不要吃药.感官动词(词组)等和使役动词2see,look at,hear,listen to,watch make,等后面作宾补的动词不定式要省略但在此类动词(词组)的被let,have to,动语态中,不可省略t他们让这个男孩儿早睡They madethe boygo to bed early.这个男孩儿被迫早睡The boywas madeto go to bedearly..当省略的动词不定式内含有或作助动词用的时,后要保留3be havetobe或have.你是农民吗?—Are youa farmer不是,但我过去是—No,but Iused tobe afarmer.简单句中的省略
①在口语中,某些句子成分可以省略你喝饮料吗?Will youHave adrink还有别的要说吗?Is thereAnything elseto say
②在对话中,针对问题进行回答时,答语常常省略与问句中相同的部分你昨天去博物馆了吗?—Did yougo tothe museumyesterday没有,我昨天没去博物馆—No,I didntgo tothe museumyesterday.并列句中的省略
①省略共同的主语或宾语Mr.Li pickedup anID cardon theroad andMr.Li handedit to a policeman.李先生在路上捡了一张身份证,并把它交给了警察
②省略由“助动词+主动词”构成的复合谓语Tom has written apoem andPeter ashort story.汤姆写了一首诗,彼得写了一部短篇小说第二分句中省略了haswritten.
③若主语与谓语相同,则省略后一分句的主语和谓语His advice made mehappy,but hisadvicemadeJim angry.他的建议使我高兴,却使吉姆生气状语从句中的省略
①在when,while,whenever,till,as soonas,if,unless,as ifVasthough,as,等引导的状语从句中,若从句谓语是动词的某种形式,而从句whether be主语又跟主句的主语相同或从句主语是时,则从句中的主语和动词it be常被省略横穿街道的时候要当心Look outfor carswhen youare crossingthe street.车辆His opinion,whether it is rightor wrong,would beconsidered.他的意见,无论对错,都会被考虑You shouldntgotohis partyunlessyouare invited.你不应该去他的聚会,除非你被邀请
