五分钟英语演讲稿五分钟英语演讲稿1“What wouldyou doif youhad onlyone dayleft tolive”I askedthis questionto myyoung studentswhen teachingEnglishthis winter. What weretheir answers“I wouldwatchtelevision!”the firstanswer.I wouldplay withthe puter!”the secondone.I wouldplay withputer TOO.The girlfinishedher sentenceperfectly with a serioussmile.Indeed howcuteand innocentthat smilewas, but howseriously myheart washurt.I wastoo frightenedto listento moreanswers likethat.Ten years ago,at theirage,I hada differentanswer Iwould spendthe lastday ofmy lifegazing atthe faceof mydeargrandmother untilI inscribedevery detailof itonto mymind. When grandmotherwas gettingold and weak, myfamily bought her a telephone soI couldsave time and thetroubleof travelingto herhome byking phonecalls instead.Later weboughthera televisionso shecould watchmodern drasbyherself. Then grandmust havebeen,we assumed, verycontented andhappy. But Inever reallyknew how grand felt. She silentlypassedaway withouta wordone night. When Iheard abouther death,a chillingpain piercedmy emptyheart. The paingrew evensharperas Itried toremember indetail exactlyhowgrandlookedand Ifailed pletely! How couldI rememberI hadnot visitedherfor ages一it seemedlike acentury! My memoriesof herdissolvedinto thin air andleaked awaylike water.Even thoughI haveatelephone, can shehear menowEven thoughI mightbe ontelevision, can shesee menowEven thoughI havemodern telemunications, can shestillmunicate withme nowWith all these“tele”s,I waspowerless.Don tpeople justlove theword oftele”,which meansfaraway.Indeed thisis howmodern technologyhas changedourworld. But pleasedon t forget thisother wordwith teletelepathywhich refersto hunbeings inbornability toconnectto our loved ones. Our minds are posedto readeach others minds;our heartsare posedto feeleach others hearts——and fulfillthesewithout anyforms oftool! But themoment I desperately struggledto remembergrandmothers face, the telepathybetween herand mehad shutdownforever. With thehelp ofmodern technology,I killedourtelepathy. This shallnever happenagain! The tele”saregreatinventions. But“telepathy“gives themthe warmthof ahunface.Let sharness thepower oftelevision toexcite ourkidsto developtheir telepathy with nature…so thatthey canreadthe secretlanguage offlowers.Let ske thetelephone linesprovokeus topreserve ourtelepathywitheach other,so we canconnect in a warmand feelingway.Let technologykeep our“telepathy“ALIVE!We needto wakeup andke thishappen.I toldmy grands storyto thoseyoung kidsthat day.Theygot veryquiet. They askedme for a secondchance toanswer thequestion. They hade toa newunderstanding-that verymomentthey hadde tomeandto ourfuture together,a dearpromise.Thank youvery much!五分钟英语演讲稿2The fairytaleof Aladdinhas alwaysbeen mychildhoodfavorite.I wasmesmerized byhow Aladdinused histhree gicwishes. As asll girl,I dreamedof having the gicwishes togowherever I wanted to go andsee whateverIwantedto see.As youcan probablyguess,I havent foundmy geniein thelampyet, however,I havefound somethingjust asexciting andithas dervelous changesin not only mylife, but thelives ofallhun-beings.It iscalled technology.I stillremember howmy fathertold meabout hischildhoodback in those dayswhen Chinawas notas openand developedasit isnow.Children wouldrun forkilometers toschool,ke toyswithwood by themselves, and thebiggest dreamof achild washoldingtwo jarsof sugar, one white, the otherbrown ineacharm andhavingthechoice ofeating whicheverhe wanted.Justlook atwhat wehave now.gnificent technologicaladvancementhas openedup awhole newworld tous. However, just asour livesbee moreconvenient, problemsarise fromthis newlife style. We seemto becaged in the moderntechnology;we arethinking alike as aresult ofusing thesamesearch engine,we aregetting lazyas mostof ourwork canbedone bychines, andweare alienatingpeople aroundus forweare morefortable talkingon phonesand typingin frontof aputer. If Iwas giventhe chance to kemy gicwishes now,I wouldwishwe couldgo backin timeand livefor threedays withoutadvancedtechnology.I wonderwhat wewould dointhosethreedays. Here iswhat Iigine On the firstday, people would be feelingso unfortablewiththe newsituation thatthey wouldprobably beconfused andjustnot knowwhat todo. The worldwouldbeinamess forthewhole day.On thesecond day,as lifegoes on,people would have tofindalternative waysto dealwith theirdaily ritualsstudentswould have togoto librariesfor infortion they wantedinsteadof searchingon Googboys wouldhavetoexpress theiraffectionto girlsin personinstead ofsending anannoying txtmessa andtheyoung peopleof today wouldhavethe chanceto experiencethechildhood of their parents. On thisparticular day,we couldrecoverall wehad lostin themodern world. Then esthe thirdday. After theprevious twodays,we wouldgraduallyetorealize thatwe shouldhave paidmoreattention toour stusand workas weactually haveso muchcreativityand potentialwithin ourselves. We wouldalsorealize thatwe shouldhave spentmore timewithafriend,a parentorachild as we dolove them, but we don treallyunderstand themdue to the lackof personalmunication. We shouldnt havebeen sodependent onmodern technologyasit wasnt inventedto confineus, but toinspire us.This lastdaywouldbe spentin sparksof newideas andsweetmoments with ourlovedones.ybe somewould arguethat itis justmy igination, and thatgicwould neverwork inour world.True, but giccan alwaysworkin ourhearts, helping usunderstand thatwe, instead ofthechine, are thesters ofthe world. The keyis totreasure ourhuninitiative andconnections,to seethe worldwithourowneyes, explore theunknown withour mindsand treatothers withourhearts.Just likeAladdin didn t chooseto usegic togaina happylife, wecanke ourchoice, too. And whenwedo,we willlive,as inthe fairytales, happily everafter.Thank you.五分钟英语演讲稿3With thedevelopment ofscience andtechnology, change hasperatedinto everyect of our dailylife. To illustratethat,Idlike tokeaparison ofthese twoseemingly insignificantthingsmilkn andiln, whose differencesindicate ourchangingway ofliving withthe times.Home milkdelivery has almost goneextinct inChina now, also gonewith itare themilkmen, who oncedelivered bottledfreshmilk door-to-door.Ontheother hand, iln sbusiness orthecourier servicehas thrivedas onlineshopping gainspopularity. However,in retrospect,I findsomething hasbeenlost inthis transition, something Shakespearecalled as“themilk ofhun kindness”.When Iwas akid, milk wasntforsale everywhere. For thefamilieswho needit, they dependedonthemilkmen totake itfromthe localdairy farmsto theirhouses. In ourneighborhood, there wassuch amilkn, whose arrivalwas muchanticipated bythechildren andalways broughtus laughterand joy.He knewthename ofevery kidand couldeasily seethrough ourtricks. If wedidntbehave,he wouldside withour parentsand threatentorob usofthenutritious drink. The entireneighborhood wasacquaintedwith him;saw himasamember ofthe munityjustlike theny residentsor streetvendors. There wasa bondbetweenall ofus forit wasnotonlythe moditiesthat beentransacted, but alsoa senseof caringand dependability. And thatsll boxfixedonto ourdoor, other thanbeing adrop-off pointfor milk;it wasa municationjunction betweenthe peopleaswetook theinitiativeto reachout toothers.Fast forwardto today, milk isubiquitous withno dedicateddeliverysystem. But theconvenience levelofourlive hasgoneup anotch.Almost everythingis forsale online, which sparesusall thetravelling andtalking.Withafew readyclicks, shopping isdone. The restis leftfor thosespeed deliverypanies.Usually itsagrumpy iln,who reachesus throughcellphone, urging everyoneto pickup theirparcels assoon aspossible. And theminute thereceipt issigned,we rushbackto unpackwhile thecourier dashestothenext destination. There isbarely aconversation carriedout, nor dowe feeltheneed totalk tosuch astranger, who changesfrom timeto timefrequently. It seemsthat peopleare alwaysinahurry now, though wehave moreconveniences, still werun shortof timetostop andstare,to speakand share.Call mean old-timer,but Ithink thepersonal touchrepresentedbythemilkn iswhat hasbeen missinginthemodernsociety.William Wordsworthonce wrotethat“Getting andspending,we lay waste our powers.”Modern technologyy havemultiplied ourpossessions orgave usmoreconveniences, but werun therisk ofreducing ourvaluesif welaywasteourpowerof interpersonalrelationships.五分。
