①Which ofthe followingis true/NOTtrueinthe passage()2Which ofthe following statements isNOT discussed/mentionedinthepassage()3Which isthe rightorder ofthe eventsgiven inthepassage()4AII the followingstatementsare NOTtrue except. The herdsman,who looksafter sheep,earns about650yuan ayear.
1The besttitle/headline forthispassagemight be.2The textpassage couldbe entitled.3What isthebesttitle forthepassage4Whats the topic ofthe article如In the1930s,a lotof peopleintheUSA wereout of work.Among thesepeople wasa mannamedAlfred Butts.He alwayshad aninterestinword gamesand tofill histime heplanned agame whichhecalled Lexico”.However,he wasnot pletelysatisfied withthegame,so hemade anumber ofchanges to〃it andchanged itsname fromLexico toAlph and then to“Criss Cross”.He wanted to makesome商业性的money fromhis newgame but he didnthave anyreal mercialsuccess.Q:The textis mainlyabout.A.Lexico B.Three menC.A wordgame D.Alfred Butts.【解题思路】答案和以偏概全因此此题的正确答案应为ACD,主题句及主旨大意的概括2topic sentencemainidea一篇文章一般表达一个中心内容或主题这个中心内容或主题通常用一个句子来概括此句叫做±题句一般来说,说明文和议论文都有主题句,而且多位于文章的开头,有时也位于文章的中间或末尾但有时不能在文中直接找到主题句,要求读者把握每段的主题句,弄清段于段之间逻辑关系的基础上自己归纳总结主题句必须能简洁明了地概括全文的主要内容,具有高度的综合性和概括性文章或段落的其他句子都是对主题句的进一步解释,说明,论证或扩展.常见的主题句和主旨型题干1What isthetopicsentence ofthepassage2This article/text/passage mainlytells that.3Which ofthe followinggives ageneral idea ofthepassage4Which ofthe followingisthe mainideaofthepassage如Joshua Binghamstudied4years atthe Universityof Parisand decidedto leavehis graduation.Hetransferred tothe Universityof Berlinand graduatedwith honors.Harvard LawSchool and,later,BostonCollege providedhim withan excellentlegal background.
It willbe veryhard butalso verybrittle...thatis,it willbreak easily. They traveleda longway,at lastgottoa castle,a largebuilding inold times.I alarge给出了的确切词义,即“城堡〃building inold timescastle对比法c.一She isusually promptfor allher class,but todayshe arrivedinthemiddle ofher firstclass,but词表转折,因此前后的意思正相反后半句的意思是她今天〃第一节上了一半才来〃,因but此反向推理,可得出她平时一向〃准时〃的结论构词法(前缀、后缀、复合、派生等)d. The lackof movementcaused themuscles toweaken.Sometimes theweakness waspermanent.So从后面的结果〃永远不能再运动”中,可以推测the playercould neverplay thesport again. As a driver,he wasbusy buthe waspaid much.His wifewas anablewoman and did all the housework.When hecame back,she tookgood care of him and henever did(赌anything athome.So he had enoughtime whenhe hada holiday.A fewfriends ofhis likedgambling博)and helearned itsoon.So he was interestedin itand hardlyforgot anythingexcept gambling.He lostallhis moneyand laterhebeganto sellthe television,watches andso on.His wifetold himnot todo itbuthe didnt listen to her.She had to tellthe police.He andhis friendswere punishedfor it.And he was(拘留所),hardly sentaway.After hecame outof lockuphe hatedher verymuch andthe womanhad toleave him.It wasNew YearsDay.Mr.Lang didntgo towork.He feltlonely andwantedto gamble again.He calledhisfriends andthey camesoon.But theywere afraidthe policewoulde.He toldhis fiveyearoldson togoto findout ifthere werethe policemenoutside.They waitedfor along timeand didntthink the policewould eand begantogamble.Suddenly openedthedoorand incameafew policemen.“I sawthere werentany policemenoutside,daddy/said theboy,z/so Iwent tothe crossing and asked〃some toe.
