of20,000participants as a qualifiedcandidate andentered ChinaCivilAviation FlightUniversityinSichun Provincewhere Istudied aviationtheoriesand techniques,aerodynamics,meteorology andother relevantknowledge.In thefirst yearofmystudies atthis university,I receivedthehonor ofModel Student.On accountofmy prominent performancein mystudiesand flyingpractice,together withmy strongadaptability,especiallywith myimpressive organizationaland communicationalcapacity,I wasdispatchedbyAirChina inJuly1997to theFlight SafetyAcademy locatedinFlorida of the UnitedStates toundergo aone-year specializedtraining inorderto developmyself intoan outstandingpilot oninternationalflights.During mystudies atFlight SafetyAcademy,I wasconfronted withevengreater challenges.I madeutmost effortsto perfectmy Englishaptitudewithin theshortest possibletime.I continuedto studyadvanced coursesin,,flight principlesaerodynamics federalregulations and a seriesof subjectsdirectlyor indirectlyrelated toflying.At thesame time,I wassubjected tothemost rigorousflight training.I didnot shrinkfrom anyof thosechallenges.Instead,I surmountedthem oneby one,supported bythepowerful spirit of perseveranceand confidencecultivated inme inmy earlychildhood.At theend ofthis one-year training,I receivedthe CertificateforFlying CommercialMulti-Engineer Aircraftsissued bythe FederalAviationAdministration of the UnitedStates.Hard asit was,the one-yearexperience inthe UnitedStates notonly enabled me toacquire thenecessaryqualifications asa pilotof internationalflights,but alsohelpedme todevelop someinitial understandingoftheAmerican society.In July1998,I returnedto AirChina andformally becameits qualifiedpilot oninternationalflights.As a pilot,one mustbe inpossession ofa strongsense of responsibilityand thespiritofteamwork.This requiresthatapilot mustbe meticulousinevery detail,able todeal withemergencies,and effectivein interpersonalcommunication.Before eachroutine flight,I wouldmake detailedflightplans,conduct carefulanalysis ofthe conditionsoftheairfields thatwewould landon,familiarize myselfwith theair routesand theweatherconditions.I payspecial attentionto enhancemy abilityin analyzingandhandling emergencysituations.On thoseoccasions whenthe flightisdelayed dueto irresistiblefactors,my patientexplanations tothepassengers tendto makethem satisfiedand theirexcited emotionswouldnaturally calmdown,facilitating thesmooth settlementoftheproblems.Inrecognition ofmyprominentachievements,my companyconferred onmethe ModelPilot Award.All
